Pam Smith Kelly, the Artistic Director of the EKC! Foundation, earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of Central Missouri and her master’s degree in music education from the University of Kansas.
With a rich background in education, she spent 16 years teaching elementary music and directed the choral program at Oxford Middle School for 19 years within the Blue Valley Schools district. Since 1984, Pam has been actively engaged with children/youth choirs, handbell choirs, wind ensembles, and orchestras in various churches across Johnson County.
Over the span of 44 years, she has served as a guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator for choirs, bands, and orchestras nationwide. Pam is a founding conductor of both the Kansas City Wind Symphony and Midwest Winds.
Furthermore, she has presided over Claude T. Smith Publications since 1993, dedicated to promoting the works of her late father. Active in numerous professional organizations including ASCAP, The KC Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, National Association for Music Educators, American Choral Directors Association, National Band Association, and the American Bandmasters Association, Pam brings a wealth of experience to her role. She takes pride in her role as one of the founding conductors of the EKC! Chorus, and EKC! Act II.
